Northern Weekend: Sold Out

Chanukkah in Grange-over-Sands?

Not as strange as you may think! The northern communities of the Movement for Reform Judaism will be holding their communities’ weekend at the Abbott Hall Hotel, Grange-over-Sands, in Cumbria on the weekend of 11-13 December 2009. The weekend is now sold out but there is a waitlist if you still wish to attend. Please note that places cannot be guaranteed.

Eight New Rabbis

Eight new rabbis were ordained on Sunday 5th July. Leo Baeck College is the only institution in the UK to ordain eight rabbis in one ceremony, all of whom are due to serve in very different UK communities after ordination and have come from different backgrounds.

New Chair for Reform Rabbis

At its Annual General Meeting earlier this month, the Assembly of Reform Rabbis UK voted in a new Chair, Rabbi Tony Hammond.  Rabbi Hammond takes over from Rabbi Dr Jonathan Romain, and will serve a two year term of office.
