Skype Distance Learning at DJE (Part 1)
Written by Pamela Hartog Monday, 30 November 2009
Earlier this year the Department of Jewish Education (DJE) at Leo Baeck College ran a pilot study series using Skype to connect the participants.
We used the conference call facility on Skype to bring all the participants together. We took it in turns to be facilitator and emailed handouts to everyone before the session and initiated the call. We did have problems with sound but generally it was a great way to study as we were able to do this in our own homes, sometimes eating supper as we studied! We were not able to use visual contact as Skype only allows this between two people.
Our next venture is coming up very soon, and is a series of study sessions on the theme of Chanukah.
Please see our Chanukah Skype 2009 Flyer for more information.
