An in-depth exploration of the Tishrei festivals incorporating the biblical and rabbinic source material, themes and values and contemporary messages. Four Tuesday afternoons 4.00 – 5.15pm at Leo Baeck College, Resource and Learning Centre, Beit Limmud, Sternberg Centre,80 East End Rd, N3 2SY Tuesday June 16, Tuesday June 23, Tuesday July 7, Tuesday July 14. Participants are invited to attend all sessions if possible in order to gain the most benefit of the mini-course. This mini course is designed for all those interested in having more in-depth knowledge of the festivals. We will engage with the source texts that provide the liturgy, rituals and meanings of each festival from Rosh Hashanah Taught by Rabbi Dr Michael Shire, Vice-Principal and Director of the Department of Jewish Education at Leo Baeck College. An inspirational teacher, Michael will share his fascination with this intense time in the Jewish calendar and the significant meanings inherent in the festivals. Full scholarships are available for teachers at Akiva, Clore Shalom and Clore Tikva schools. |
