At the recent Movement AGM it was announced that David Tilles will join the Board as a new member. Michael Grabiner is a new Vice-President and Clifford Siegel will be a new Honorary Vice-President.David Tilles B.Sc., FCMA, ASIP
David Tilles was educated at Kings College School, Wimbledon, and the University of Warwick. He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, an Associate of the Society of Investment Professionals and a Member of the Operational Research Society.
He is Executive Chairman of Mondrian Investment Partners Limited which he founded in 1990 after working for Hill Samuel Investment Management. Mondrian employs over 170 staff in London and Philadelphia and manages over £40 billion in global stock market investments for pension funds, foundations and endowments from around the world. The firm is a major British exporter of financial services and has won the Queen’s Award for Enterprise on three separate occasions.
David is a Governor of the Corporation of King’s College School; The Sadler’s Wells Foundation and is a Trustee of the Galicia Jewish Heritage Foundation which operates a Museum in Krakow, Poland.
David Tilles has been a lifelong member of Wimbledon & District Synagogue. He has an inter-faith marriage with Hannele who is an active member of the Wimbledon Synagogue Choir and their two sons have been brought up in the Reform Movement.
Michael Grabiner
Michael Grabiner is a member of Finchley Reform Synagogue. Although brought up in the United Synagogue, he joined Finchley in 1987 with his wife Jane. They have 4 children. Michael was Chair of the Movement from 2005-2008 and Treasurer from 2002-2005. He is currently a Trustee and Chair of Governors of JCOSS; Senior Vice- Chair of the World Union for Progressive Judaism; Chair of ResponseAbility; a member of the Jewish Community Day Schools Advisory Board and a Trustee and member of the Board of the UK Jewish Film Festival. Michael is also Chair of Partnerships for Schools: he is a senior adviser to Apax Partners and was formerly Chief Executive of Energis plc.
Clifford Siegel
Clifford Siegel is the Managing Partner of ISM Capital, an investment banking boutique he formed in late 2008 to focus on emerging market debt. Previously he was the founding CEO of Jefferies International (1993– 2008); EVP Jefferies and Company (1990–2008) and a member of Jefferies’ Global Executive Committee. At Jefferies he oversaw the establishment of offices in London, Delhi, Paris, Zurich and Tokyo; assisted in the creation in the now $2.0bn AUM Jefferies International Asset Management Convertible Long Only Fund, where he acted as Chairman and portfolio advisor (1994–2007); and was responsible for building Jefferies International to a $200mm business with over 300 employees at his departure.
