All the Fun of the Chanukah Fair
Thursday, 22 December 2011
Communities throughout the Movement have been preparing for Chanukah with fairs and other events.
Bromley Reform Synagogue's Chanukah Fair was a great success, with over £850 raised for the shul and charities including Nightingale, PDSA and St Christophers Hospice. Judi Sheffrin adds: "In addition, other charities will benefit from the donation of books and other goods of which, thanks to very generous donors, we had just too much to sell in 3 hours. Enormous credit is due to Chairman Barbara Kurtz and her hardworking team".
Menorah Synagogue welcomed guests (pictured left, photo by Howard Barlow) from the Hava Nagila community of Chelyabinsk in Russia. The visitors will stay with community members and enjoyed getting to know the Menorah community at their Chanukah Fair.
The Kol Chai Chanukah Gift Fair was a great success with stalls selling a variety of goods including homemade cakes and biscuits and handmade craftworks.
West London Synagogue's 'Fair at 33' raised money for Pets as Therapy, Cosmic (children of St. Mary’s intensive care), Tzedek and a range of other charities.
