PrintE-mail

Rabbi Dr. Tony Bayfield CBE, President of the Movement for Reform Judaism, who is also a President of the Council of Christians and Jews, spent time helping out at the Providence Row Project for homeless and vulnerable people alongside other CCJ Presidents. CCJ is the UK's oldest national Jewish/Christian interfaith organisation

The Presidents of CCJ meet annually, normally at Lambeth Palace.  This year was an exception with the Presidents meeting at St Botolph's close to Liverpool Street Station.  Those present included the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Roman Catholic Archbishop of Westminster, the Greek Orthodox Archbishop, the Moderator of the Free Churches and the Head of the Church of Scotland; Rabbi Dr Tony Bayfield, Rabbi Danny Rich, Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg and Rabbi Abraham Levy.

After the meeting all the Presidents went to the Providence Row Project nearby, a project offering support to the homeless and vulnerable. The Project is supported by Mitzvah Day and the group picture shows the Presidents along with young volunteers from City of London Boys and Girls Schools and members of the Providence Row Project team.
