Rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner joins religious leaders in calling for action on crimes against humanity in Iraq

Rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner has joined Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Hindu, Sikh and Zoroastrian leaders in calling to David Cameron to use the UK’s seat on the UN Security Counncil to begin the process of bringing war crimes prosecutions against militants from Isil – the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant.

Paying tribute to the world’s first female rabbi

You might be surprised to learn that the world's first female rabbi was Regina Jonas, who was ordained in 1935 in Berlin. A series of events has just taken place in Germany and the Czech Republic, attended by a number of pioneering female rabbis, honouring her memory and work. Our own Rabbi Dr Jackie Tabick, the UK’s first female rabbi and Convener of the Reform Beit Din for the UK and Europe was there and reflects here on her experiences.
