Hull Celebrates 20 Years of Synagogue Building
Tuesday, 14 February 2012On 18th February 1992, the first ever service took place in the newly built Ne’ve Shalom, Hull Reform Synagogue building. To celebrate the 20th anniversary of this significant step in the Shul’s history, the Hull community are holding a communal celebration weekend on 17-19 February 2012 which will culminate on Sunday lunchtime with a special service and lunch.
Women in Jewish Leadership - Make Your Voice Heard
Tuesday, 14 February 2012Women are significantly underrepresented at a leadership level within the Jewish community. The Commission on Women in Jewish Leadership (CWJL) - an initiative of the Jewish Leadership Council (JLC) - was set up to look at the issue and put forward recommendations for change. To this end, the CWJL is urging everyone in the community, both women and men, to contribute their views.
Alyth Mark Tu B'Shevat with Farmers Market
Tuesday, 07 February 2012Alyth (North Western Reform Synagogue) marked Tu B’Shevat with a farmers market offering children the chance to learn about Jewish and ethical questions around farming and food production. The market included Fairtrade and Jewish farming awareness stalls and seed planting for children with Riverford Farm organic vegetables boxes, homemade organic jams and chutney.
