Reform Shuls Battle in Big Green Jewish Competiton

Two Reform communities are hoping to win £2000 in the Big Green Jewish competition. Alyth (North Western Reform Synagogue) and Finchley Reform Synagogue have both entered projects in the contest which aims to support innovative approaches in the Jewish community to reducing carbon emissions and raising environmental engagement.

The South West London Jewish Primary School Project

A small group of volunteers from across South West London and Surrey have begun working together to establish a Jewish primary school to serve all the Jewish children of the area. The group have compiled a survey to establish if there is a demand for such a school and are encouraging parents to take a few minutes to complete the form as accurately as possible.

Rabbis Launch Charter Against Destitution

Three rabbis, representing the Liberal, Masorti and Reform movements, co-signed JCORE’s charter last month, calling on the government to allow asylum seekers the right to work after they have been in the UK for six months.
