New Rabbinic Students at Leo Baeck College

Leo Baeck College is pleased to announce the new intake of UK and international rabbinic students for the coming year.  Emily Jurman, Naomi Spencer, Jonas Jacquelin and Adam Frankenberg will spend their first year of studies in Israel and Esther Hugenholtz, Jessica Lenza and Alexander Grodensky will join the third year of the rabbinic programme in London this September.

Successes at the World Zionist Congress

The international Reform and Progressive movements made a strong showing at the 36th World Zionist Congress in Jerusalem. Pro Zion, the British Reform and Progressive Zionist organisation sent six people to the Congress: Rabbi Danny Burkeman, Kathryn Michaels, Ben Jacobs, Robin Moss, Shira Conradi and Deborah Blausten together with two WUPJ (World Union for Progressive Judaism) delegates from Britain: Mike Grabiner and Lea Muehlstein.

Progressive Judaism Under Threat in Israel: An Urgent Call to Action

On Monday 12th July, with no warning, a committee vote was held on the bill sponsored by Member of the Knesset David Rotem that poses a dangerous threat to the rights of Reform Jews and indeed all non-Orthodox Jews, who comprise the overwhelming majority of world Jewry.

Breaking News: The Rotem Conversion Bill will not go to vote this Wednesday due to overwhelming opposition.
