Judith Chapman of Sinai Synagogue is new Lord Mayor of Leeds

Sinai Synagogue, Leeds is delighted to announce that Judith Chapman is the incoming Lord Mayor of Leeds. Judith will be its 4th Jewish Lord Mayor. Judith was born and raised in Leeds and has been an active member of Sinai Synagogue all her life. Her parents were among the founder members of the synagogue and her late father was a chair of the community.

Foundation stone laid at Woodland Cemetery

The Jewish Joint Burial Society Woodland Cemetery took another step towards full operation with a service led by Rabbi Larry Becker for the unveiling of the foundation stone of the new ohel (prayer hall) by Jerome Karet, a founding Governor and President of the society.
