Discrimination against Progressive Jews in Austria: a call to action
Wednesday, 02 May 2012
Austria passed a law on 19th April that extends a variety of rights to Orthodox Judaism but does not extend the same rights to Progressive Judaism. The European Union for Progressive Judaism and the World Union for Progressive Judaism together with members of the community in Austria have done much to prevent the law from being passed but to no avail. Please join our Chief Executive Ben Rich and Rabbi to the Movement for Reform Judaism, Rabbi Laura Janner-Klausner in acting in support of Or Chadasch, the Progressive Jewish Community in Vienna.
The EUPJ needs your support today in petitioning the Austrian government to ensure that Progressive Jewish communities can enjoy the same rights as Orthodox communities. To learn more about the issue and find out about what action you can take, download this special bulletin from the EUPJ.
