Invitation to Join the Debate – Movement AGM 19th June

PrintE-mail

The Board of the Movement for Reform Judaism has asked Ben Rich, as our new Chief Executive, to conduct a strategic review of the Movement's vision, role, services and relationship with members to ensure that it is equipped to take full advantage of the opportunities and challenges over the next five to ten years.

As part of this process Ben will facilitate a discussion following the Annual General Meeting this Sunday 19th June, so that he can better understand the needs of the synagogues and their aspirations for the Movement. Please be there to ensure your voice is heard.

The Movement is undertaking a strategic review of its vision, role, services and relationship with members to take advantage of the opportunities and challenges over the next five to ten years. Running alongside our strategic review, we will be featuring a series of articles on our website and in the Movement Update. We hope these articles will provoke debate and discussion within the Movement – we welcome your thoughts: comment, anger, congratulations, agreement, disagreement...

The first in the series is an article written by Rabbi Leon Morris from New York, which appeared on the JTA website last month.

The article argues that 'Reform Judaism must move beyond personal choice.'

We would love to hear your views about this and other issues facing Reform Judaism. To have your say, email us at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

The AGM will be held at the Sternberg Centre, from 1.30pm, this Sunday 19th June. It would be helpful if you could email Ruth Aarons to let us know you are coming.
