Jewish Journeys Reunion

PrintE-mail

These are difficult days for us all. We were hoping that this year, the first year of our totally independent Journeys, independent of the Movement for Reform Judaism would be a bumper year, a year of Journeys to Israel and Jordan, to Paris, to Morocco, to Kenya, to South Africa and to Lithuania. We were looking forward to both reunions with our committed journeyers as well as an opportunity to welcome scores of new journeyers into our community.

However, the markets worked against us, the Pound spiralled ever downwards and more and more people, who had shown interest in a range of Journeys, were forced to let us know that this was not a great time for them to travel as things were tight.

We are not going to say goodbye to something so special, something we have worked so hard to create and something we know has brought great joy into the lives of those who have travelled together on Journeys to Poland, Croatia, Lithuania, Latvia, Germany, Spain, Italy, Morocco, Israel, Greece, Hungary, the Czech Republic and the UK.

Our Journeys will continue in 2009; a Journey has already taken place in Poland, two are happening in Prague, one with young people from Finchley Reform, Alyth Gardens and Hendon Reform and the other with a group from Bromley Reform; the Journey to Paris in May is filling up and Jeremy and I are leading a group from Washington DC to Paris and Morocco in the spring. We are still trying to get groups together for Israel, Lithuania, Kenya and South Africa.

But, we are aware that some of these will not happen and we will be forced to spend a lot of this year consolidating the new relationship with Colletts Travel which we believe will not only give you more professional service, but will also ultimately enable us to access lower prices for all the land arrangements on future Journeys.

So, if you believe in our Journeys, if you want to keep the spirit of the Journeys going during these challenging times, come and join me for an evening of fun, laughter, memories and introductions at the Sternberg Centre on March 30th from 7.30pm – 10.00pm.

Please bring a few friends with you to introduce them to our special way of building Jewish community, of telling our great stories, of creating Jewish identity, of challenging conventional wisdoms. Please let Avril know ( This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. I would love to see you all.

Shalom,

Julian Resnick
