Manchester Big Tent to be Cross-Communal

PrintE-mail

Working closely with the Manchester communities, the Movement for Reform Judaism has collaborated with the Board of Deputies and the Jewish Leadership Council to ensure that support for Israel remains a genuinely cross-communal activity.

The Big Tent for IsraelAttempts to exclude non-Orthodox rabbis from participation in the Big Tent for Israel conference while including Orthodox ones have been rejected after the intervention of cross-communal bodies and the Movement.

Following the intervention, speakers from all parts of the community are being welcomed equally and we encourage all those not attending the Northern Communities' Weekend to take the chance to get involved in what now looks like an exciting programme on 27th November.

Speakers include Israeli Ambassador Daniel Taub and BICOM CEO Lorna Fitzsimons and organisers hope the event, to be held at a central Manchester venue, will attract up to 1000 people.
