PrintE-mail

Ten years after the tragedies of 9/11, The Mayor of Camden, Cllr. Abdul Quadir, brought a message of harmony when he visited Shir Hayim, the Hampstead Reform Jewish Community.

Cllr. Abdul Quadir and Rabbi Larry TabickCllr. Quadir attended a Shabbat service on Saturday morning 10th September.

Shir Hayim, which means Song of Life, is a small community that meets every week for services in Hashomer House, Broadhurst Gardens.

In his sermon, Rabbi Larry Tabick paraphrased Franklin Roosevelt, saying that ‘we have nothing to hate, except hatred itself.’

Replying, Cllr. Quadir thanked the community for their invitation, and outlined his vision of ‘a multi-cultural, multi-faith, multi-ethnic Camden living in harmony’.
