On Sunday 6th December, 65 senior citizens attended the twice-yearly Sydney Morley Seniors Luncheon in the Alexander Levy Hall at Jackson’s Row. Named after the synagogue elder who passed away last year, the lunch was again a huge success.

The guest speaker was Faye Morris, the shul Administrator, who addressed the lunch with humorous synagogue tales and anecdotes of her life and travels.  Faye, who celebrated her 25 years with Manchester Reform Synagogue two weeks ago, said ‘It was an honour to spend time with members and old friends, and wonderful to see the lunch so well attended’.

There was additionally a short violin recital given by Leon Keuffer, a 14 year old shul member from Brazil, a student at Chethams School of Music.

The previous week had seen Manchester Reform Synagogue take part in the Community Quiz organised by the Manchester Representative Council at Bowdon Shul. Regrettably, the Winners Cup eluded the team and Yeshurun Synagogue won again with 125 points against Jackson's Row's 120.
