Monday, 05 September 2011
The appointment of Rabbi Celia Surget as Associate Rabbi and Director of Youth has been announced at one of the UK’s fastest growing Reform communities: Radlett & Bushey Reform Synagogue (RBRS).
She will be part of the synagogue’s rabbinic team working with Principal Rabbi Paul Freedman.
Celia trained for the rabbinate at HUC in Israel and the United States and at Leo Baeck College here in the UK. Since her ordination from LBC in 2007, she has been a much loved and respected rabbi at MJLF, the Reform synagogue in Paris. She led their cheder of 350 students and was instrumental in the creation and development of the Reform youth movement, Netzer France.
Robert Wiltshire, Chair of RBRS, said: "I’m delighted to announce this appointment. It is a very exciting time for RBRS as we celebrate our 40th anniversary and look forward to continued growth and new opportunities with our new rabbinic team."
Rabbi Surget is expected to take up her new post in November, replacing Rabbi David Mitchell, who is joining the rabbinic team at West London Synagogue.
