Reform Youth Celebrated at Massuot Awards

PrintE-mail

More than 200 people from across the country gathered for the Massuot Community Youth Awards which took place at Hendon Reform Synagogue last Sunday (11th December).

Massuot Awards WinnersThe Reform Movement's Massuot (which means 'beacons' in Hebrew) Awards aim to recognise and reward the achievements of young Reform Jews and their adult helpers who have made an outstanding contribution to their Reform and wider community.

Winners receive £200 to spend on their community or project.

Jack Petchey Award winners are also recognised at the annual event which this year featured World of Children Award winner Luke Lancaster as guest speaker. Luke is the founder of 'Young Pioneers', a youth charity dedicated to empowering young people and making it 'cool to care' about others.

Josh Moritz, Mazkir of RSY-Netzer said: "It is great to be able to celebrate the achievements of our young people and the dedicated service of adults working for their benefit. These people radiate passion, commitment, and loving kindness when it comes to working with their peers and in community activities."
