RSY-Netzer

PrintE-mail

RSY-Netzer is the youth movement of The Movement for Reform Judaism. Every year we run events and activities for over 800 10–18 year olds. Our aim is to enhance and strengthen our participants’ Jewish identity. We create an inclusive and safe social environment where participants enjoy a variety of fun and challenging experiences allowing everyone to shape their personal opinions and beliefs. We are proud of our reputation for high-quality, fun events, camps and tours which include:

Shemesh: summer camps for hundreds of kids aged 10-15 each year.

Israel Tour: this month-long trip is a formative and life-changing experience for many 16 year olds; cementing their relationship with the land and the people of Israel in a way they will never forget.

Hadracha: training our young people to become leaders. They go on to lead their peers on summer camps as well as getting involved in youth work in their own synagogue community.

Shnat Netzer: our gap year programme is the best vehicle we have for achieving our key aims of increasing Jewish identity, and connection with the land and its people, whilst empowering them to help make the world a better place through educational, leadership and social activism training.
Participants invariably return to take up leadership positions within the movement, their universities and their communities.

"RSY-Netzer gets it exactly right. A great mix of fun, religion, values and education – what more can a parent ask for?"

"I am now a Rabbi and looking back I remember how delighted, happy, enthusiastic and engaged I was as a young person involved with RSY-Netzer. There was such a vast mine of energy and idealism in us, which we do not always know how to access and tap. There is no doubt that our youth movement, RSY-Netzer, does know how to discover, tap and nurture those qualities in ways which benefit them personally, our Movement specifically and our world generally"

"Thanks to your support and funding, my Shemesh camp was an amazing experience. Usually I’m the shy one who finds it hard to socialise and never before had I found it so easy to talk and make friends. The activities gave us the perfect opportunity to meet people and work as a team. Moreover, they were fun, enjoyable and kept us entertained. This was an experience to remember and I am so grateful that you were able to raise the money to send me to camp and for giving me this fantastic opportunity "
