Synagogue Membership in the UK: Get Your Copy of the Report

A report on current synagogue affiliations in the UK has recently been jointly published by the Board of Deputies and Institute of Jewish Policy Research.Charles Kessler, a board member for The Movement for Reform Judaism commented: "These figures are a sign of success and real progress for the Reform Movement and clearly show the substantial increase in Progressive Jews as a percentage of the British Jewish community.
The Reform and Liberal movements have grown through members choosing to join them. Given the low birth rates of the UK population, and Progressive Jews are part of this pattern, the survey results are a strong showing of the Progressives as a vibrant part of the UK Jewish community.
In addition, in Edgware and District Reform and West London Synagogues, the Movement for Reform Judaism has two of the three largest individual synagogue memberships in Britain and these are growing signs of organisational strength as well."
